Playing matches is the best way to master tennis. During the KNLTB spring competition, competitive tennis is offered for every level and age category. The youth competition is organized in such a way that children play with and against peers who are roughly the same level as them. Everyone is welcome to participate, both beginners and experienced players. The trainers will assign you to a team that matches your level. Click here for more information about the KNLTB competition.

How does competition work?

Each competitive team plays seven times on Sundays (spring competition) and/or five times on Sundays (fall competition) against teams from other clubs. Sometimes at Startbaan, sometimes at the other club.

Youngsters who play with a red, orange, or green ball participate in the Tenniskids competition. Youngsters who play with a yellow ball participate in the Junior competition for ages 11-14 or 13-17.

Please note! The competition is played as a team, which means that you must be available on all match dates when you register. Parents help out during the competition. This means that you are, for example, the team captain or help out during the competition day, for example by pouring lemonade, etc.

There are no costs associated with participating in the spring competition. To participate in the fall competition (green/yellow), the cost is €17.50 per player.

Tenniskids competition for children up to 12 years old

The Tenniskids competition is part of Tenniskids. This program for children up to 12 years old is fully tailored to the age and abilities of children. This allows them to learn tennis very quickly. Four colors are used to track a child's progress: Blue, Red, Orange, and Green. Each color corresponds to different ages, court sizes, and ball types. Children playing in Red, Orange, and Green can participate in the Tenniskids competition.

KNLTB Junior competition for ages 11 to 17

Children aged 11 to 17 can participate in the KNLTB Junior competition. This competition consists of the Junior competition for ages 11 to 14 and the Junior competition for ages 13 to 17. They play seven times on Sundays against teams from other clubs. Sometimes at LTC Startbaan, sometimes at the other club. The trainers decide the team line-ups.

What is expected of parents during the competition?

The spring and fall competitions and all other youth activities of LTC Startbaan, including tournaments, tosses, and the organization of the competition, are organized by the Youth Committee. The Youth Committee consists of a number of members who volunteer their time. Without the help of parents, we would not be able to organize these activities. The help of parents is therefore very much appreciated during the competition.
