Orange X tournament on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July 2023 with all kinds of extras!

LTC Startbaan celebrates its 10th anniversary this year! We will pay attention to this lustrum throughout the year under the motto GAME, SET and MATCH. After GAME, the successful opening tournament on March 25 and 'presents' such as towels and water bottles for the youth and delicious pastries and muffins, now the SET on July 1 and 2. This will be the Oranje X lustrum tournament with all kinds of extras. All senior members, competition players, recreational players, new members and OldStars are very welcome! The youth has its own tournament on June 9. Reporting about MATCH will follow later.

Saturday, July 1 You can participate in the men's or women's doubles. Just like with the opening tournament, you can also register for the mixed 1 clinic on this day. Our fruit prince provides us with healthy and tasty cocktails. The technical committee honors our spring competition champions. And Top of the Bill: we're having a party night!

Party evening with dress code: orange touch The evening starts around 6 p.m. with delicious tapas and delicious ice cream for dessert. Vegetarians have also been taken into account. Drinks are at your own expense. Then around 8 p.m. it's Party Time! Mr. X with live performances and DJ. Go wild, swing, you can request your favorite songs. As long as your feet leave the floor! If you participate in the tournament on Saturday or Sunday, you can register for the tapas and this will be offered to you by the association. If you don't play tennis, you can withdraw €10.00 from Rick or Carmen and join us for dinner. You will receive a wristband that you must show on July 1. This also applies to the introduces. On Saturday, July 1, everyone who has registered will receive a menu. This menu consists of 7 items (6 tapas and 1 ice cream). So if you are an ice cream lover you can swap tapas for ice cream or vice versa!

Sunday, July 2 You can participate in the mixed tournament. The OldStars tournament takes place in the morning. A separate registration applies for this. Register via oldstars@ltcstartbaan.nl. It is also possible to test your fitness via an inbody measurement. After such a sporty day and party evening, that will of course be fine. And if you are still not satisfied after the fantastic tapas, you can always go wild at the Churros stall.

On this day, for the first time in the history of LTC Startbaan, a wheelchair tennis clinic will be organized on the outdoor courts! Wendi Schutte will teach us the tips and tricks from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Several wheelchairs will be available for this purpose, so you can experience for yourself what it is like to get the ball over the net from a sitting position! Wendi started playing wheelchair tennis in 2016. She quickly got the hang of it and through hard training she was able to participate in national tournaments in 2017. In 2018 she started participating in international tournaments. She plays an average of 15 international tournaments per year and travels all over the world. In June 2022 she was number 28 in the world. Unfortunately, due to injuries she was not able to play much for 7 months. In the meantime, she has resumed her training well. Tombola On Saturday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM, you can buy tombola tickets or tickets. A ticket costs €1.00, 5 for €4.00 and 10 for €8.00. You can only pay by card at the tombola director. There are wonderful prizes to be won, such as wine and beer packages, padel vouchers, gift cards, beautiful books, dinners, body and soap, BBQ, etc. The tombola draw will take place on Sunday, July 2 around 4:30 PM, as soon as the tournament has ended. If you are not present at the draw, your prize will be forfeited.

The technical committee helps organize this tournament. The format of the tournament is that we create pairs per pool. You play an average of 2 to 3 matches. You will be classified based on your DSS, your current rating. Both participants of a couple must register. In principle we play for 2 won sets. With many registrations for 1 set won. We use penalty points and at 5-5 tie-break. The table service ladies and gentlemen record the scores so that we can honor winners per pool. This tournament does not count towards your ranking. In bad weather the tournament will take place on the indoor courts!
